Cherry season is just a few weeks away and Broetje Orchards is gearing up to harvest this crucial "first fruits” of the season.  We face a number of challenges each year to the growth and health of cherries, particularly weather

We are a little under a month into Spring and the Trees are starting to wake up. That means a lot of moving parts will start to be in motion. The Cherry Blossoms are in full force this past week and we have brought in one of nature's hardest worker to help us.

Spring is here and that means our trees will be waking up from their dormant state. It takes a lot of teamwork to help take care of trees. Like many places, we often become caught up in the work and don’t always acknowledge good works of others.

Happy New Year! Winter has arrived and like everyone in the Northwest it hasn't been too kind.  The past two months has been filled with freezing nights and temperatures during the day at an average of 12-15 degrees. We also have been hit with quite a bit of snow as you can see from the photo above.

Broetje Orchards is happy to present the 2016 CR report.  This is the third year of us bringing additional accountability to our operations.  As a recognized leader in the apple industry for over 25 years, we recognize that we did not achieve our success simply because we grow great apples.

On July 19; five Camp Vista Students and staff went and visited two crews out in the Orchard to show them their appreciation for their hard work and passed out 120 care packages to the employees. 

We are about three weeks into our Harvest! This year's incoming harvest is larger then last year. Here is some of the crop estimates of the three orchards and how our main packing site prepares for the incoming fruit.
